In march we got into a fotoshooting of German photographer Beba Ilic by chance. Now our photos and a text of mine is part of a Pop Up Exhibition in Hagen, Germany. Soon a book about the project #hinsehen (to have a look) which is about civil courage will be published with all the photos and texts.

Have a Look and act

There is no saying what might happen. Some thoughts and questions about experiencing difficult situations as a witness and about all that moments where one should "have a look" and act.

Do not turn a blind eye on it -- have a look ...
better have a look twice.

What happened?
Why do I think it is wrong?

Why does it enrage me? Where does the rage come from? Is it my rage?

Where do I find a feeling, the countenance, to improve
the situation instead of compounding it.

Looking inside myself. Having a look and acting.
Questioning instead of accusing.

Listening instead of being indignant. Staying approachable.
Do not condemn. Mediating instead of judging.

This thoughts came up after I had witnessed an older man at a train harassing a black person and I had dared to interfere.
